Jazz Tonight

Jonas Lamb here, sitting in for the next few weeks and looking forward to digging deep into the jazz vinyl vault. Kick back, fix something in a rocks glass and listen to the sweet sound of vintage jazz and blues and an occasional glimpse at some innovative contemporary sessions by a selection of my favorites.

As a side note, seems so long ago nancy features benevento on the optigan described here, "Particularly, you can hear the use of the Optigan, a device created by the toy manufacturer Mattel. The Optigan, or optical organ, plays samples from a transparency with sound waves printed on it, like the grooves on a record. An optical laser reads the transparency and creates a wobbly, out-of-tune, almost eerie-sounding keyboard effect." (
