The main event today is the celebration of the birthday of Dmitri Shostakovich. However we will also do a little something for John Rutter as well as some new releases from earlier this week.

Concerto for Piano, Trumpet & Orchestra, Op. 35 by Dmitry ShostakovicH. Yefim Bronfan at the piano, Thomas Stevens on the Trumpet, Esa-Pekka Salonen conducting the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
Symphony No. 11 in G minor, Op. 103 of Dmitry Shostakovich. Valery Gergiev conducting the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra.
The Golden Cockerel by Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov. David Zinman and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra.
Gloria by John Rutter, the composer conducting The Cambridge Singers, Philip Jones Brass Ensemble and the City of London Sinfonia.
