A Little Bit of Broadway

Dirty Dancing
(Film Soundtrack 1987)

It’s been a bad year for baby boomer idols – In August we lost Farrah Facwett and Michael Jackson and now, this week, it’s Patrick Swayze. Dirty Dancing’s Johnny Castle was his breakthrough role.

The story is how young “Baby” grows up our the summer of 1963 (and of course, learns to dance!).

It’s Emmy night, and one of the awards given out earlier is the first Outstanding Special Class - Short-format Live-Action Entertainment Programs – and it went to a musical! During last year’s writers strike, Joss Whedon created Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, the story of a young man (Neil Patrick Harris – this year’s Emmy host), the girl he loves (Felicia Day) and that annoying superhero (Nathan Fillion) who seems to foil all the young man’s chances at love and evil. Joss talked about Dr. Horrible on this morning’s Sunday Edition.

Horrible Theme-- Instrumental
My Freeze Ray --Neil Patrick Harris
Bad Horse Chorus --Jed Whedon, Joss Whedon & Zack Whedon
Caring Hands --Felicia Day
A Man's Gotta Do --Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion & Felicia Day
My Eyes --Neil Patrick Harris & Felicia Day
So They Say -- Ensemble
Everyone's A Hero -- Nathan Fillion

If you haven't seen it -- go take a look! Hulu is a great way to catch up on your viewing and see those things you missed.
