A Little Bit of Broadway

Love Never Dies
Act 2

Last week we listened to Act 1 of Andrew Lloyd Weber’s latest musical. He has stated that "What I think is that Love Never Dies is a completely standalone musical that just happens to have the same four characters as the Phantom." (3/10/2010 CNN)

Well, it still sounds like a sequel to me. It’s scheduled to open at the Neil Simon Theater on Broadway this fall.

Once upon a time, there was a Cuban band leader called Desi who married a redheaded comedienne called Lucy and they had a family. Now, many years later the daughter, after singing on Broadway and at Vegas and in cabarets and clubs, has recorded a tribute album to her visionary father. Here’s Lucie Desiree Arnaz y de Ball, singing songs that show her Latin Roots.
