Today is an auspicious day, we are now in our new studio for KRNN. As I learn all about the new layout and all the buttons and knobs it is a good time to have a "firsts" program. So we shall hear first symphonies, concerti, and sonatas. However, to begin with let us ask a blessing on this house from Beethoven,
The Consecration of the House Overture by Ludwig van Beethoven; Leonard Bernstein conducting the New York Philharmonic.
Piano Sonata No. 1 in C major, K 279 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart performed by Heidi Lowy on the piano.
Sonata for Solo Violin, Op. 27, No. 1 in G by Eugene Ysaye performed by Thomas Zehetmair on the violin.
Concerto for piano and orchestra in D minor, No. 1, Op. 15 of Johannes Brahms performed by Emil Gillels on the piano and Eugen Jocum conducting the Berlin Philharmonic.
Symphony No. 1 in F minor, Op. 10 of Dmitri Shostkovich performed by the Moscow Philharmonic under the baton of Kiril Kondrashin.
Sonata for violin and piano (No. 1) of Claude Debussy performed by Gilles Apap and Eric Ferrand-N'Kaoua.
Symphony No. 1 in E flat Op. 1 by Igor Stravinsky performed by the Columbia Symphony Orchestra under the direction of the composer.
Lovers on the Celestial Sphere by Jun Nagao and performed by Nobuya Sugawa on soprano saxophone and Kenneth Tse on the tenor saxophone.
